About Course

This self-paced continuing education course offers a comprehensive and clinically grounded exploration of behavioral and technology-related addictions, an increasingly relevant and rapidly evolving area of mental health practice. Designed for professional counselors, the course integrates current conceptual frameworks, empirical research, and practical clinical applications to support effective assessment and intervention. Through a combination of expert-led video instruction and real-world clinical interviews, learners will examine a wide spectrum of behavioral addictions, including digital dependency, compulsive behaviors, and emerging technology-related concerns. The course emphasizes how these patterns intersect with emotional regulation, attachment dynamics, and co-occurring mental health conditions across diverse client populations. Grounded in evidence-informed and relational approaches, the material highlights the translation of research into practice, equipping clinicians with actionable strategies they can immediately integrate into their work. Special attention is given to case conceptualization, ethical considerations, and the nuanced challenges that arise when working with clients experiencing behavioral addictions in contemporary contexts. Interactive learning activities are incorporated throughout the course to deepen engagement, reinforce key concepts, and support meaningful application to clinical practice. Participants may complete the course at their own pace, with built-in bookmarking allowing seamless continuation between sessions. Upon successful completion, participants will receive 20 hours of continuing education (CE) credit, along with a digital credential badge suitable for professional use across platforms such as LinkedIn, websites, and curriculum vitae.
